ADDRESSING "SQUARE DANCE ATTIRE"
Our festival flyer says
"appropriate dance attire required on dance floor." We have had a few calls
regarding what that means. We do not want to turn anyone away, and we hope that
all dancers will abide by the following guidelines.
Friday and Saturday night
dances - appropriate dance attire
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday -
casual attire permissible as well as dance attire
Sunday Doin's Dance - casual
attire permissible as well as dance attire
The following square and round
dance dress code has been developed and enforced at many National Square Dance
Conventions and serves as the most recent Convention Dress Code of the Square
Dance Activity, approved by United Square Dancers of America and the National
Executive Committee of the National Square Dance Convention:
- Square dance dress, or square dance skirt and blouse, or prairie skirt.
Crinoline slips and pettipants are recommended with square dance attire but not
with prairie skirts. No pants, shorts or T-shirts permitted on the square and
round dance floors.
- Long sleeve shirts and long pants a must, bolo or square dance tie
recommended. Western-style attire recommended. No short sleeves, T-shirts or
shorts allowed on the square and round dance floors.
Don't forget your club and
district banners for the Saturday evening ceremony.

Sunday morning Doin's Dance.
Lots of people use this time to renew their Doin's subscription. Dance to our
state callers at their finest as they let their hair down and make the Sunday
dance a fun one to remember as you all head home. Coffee and donuts are
provided. There is no extra cost to attend this dance, but additional donations
are always accepted. There will be a donation box and all donations go to defray
the printing cost of the Doin's.
