Patrick Manning Hunt

Patrick Manning Hunt, age 82, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018.

He was born February 29, 1936, to Jack and Talitha Hunt at KU Medical Center. He graduated from Southwest High School and attended one year at Kansas City Junior College. He worked in sales most of his life and told many funny stories about his childhood, flying, playing cards, driving too fast, camping, and the experiences of fatherhood.

Covering a four state area he would often leave early morning to arrive at 8 o'clock for his first meeting of the day. He was very successful and gained recognition for salesman of the year many times, the last 20 years was with Badger Meter Company.

He will be remembered for the care he gave his wife, Diane, and the active life they lived - travelling, dancing and always going somewhere even as she battled Alzheimer's. Square dancing was Diane's idea, but Pat jumped right in and they danced about 40 years together. He was a member of the Longview Twisters and later with the Live Wires, Hootin Hollers, and the Silver Dollars. He served on the HOA board and also on the Executive staff of the Missouri Square N' Round Dance Federation.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Diane Hunt. He is survived by daughter, Denise, sons Robert (Joyce) and Leslie; grandchildren Jennell, Jillena, Dustin, Dylan, Beth, Ricky, David and 5 great-grandchildren. He also leaves his companion and dance partner, Ruth Ann Reynolds.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with services at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 17, 2018, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Alzheimer's Association in Pat's name. Alzheimer's Association of Kansas City, 3846 West 75th Street, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208; 913.831.3888; www.alz.org/kansascity/
