Purpose: The St. Louis Metro Square and Round Dance
Association ("Metro") will make available scholarship money
to Metro members for the purpose of increasing their
knowledge, ability and expertise in the area of calling or
cueing square and round dances. |
Scope:
The scholarship covers any costs associated with attendance at a recognized caller/cuer school or classes including: tuition, hotel and food expenses, mileage or other transportation costs. The cost of equipment, organizational dues, licensing fees and/or music purchases are not covered by this scholarship |

1. |
Metro will offer up to 3 education scholarships per calendar year with a maximum total spend of $1200.00. This educational scholarship program will be reviewed by Metro on an annual basis. |

An education scholarship is available to any Metro member in the amount of $400.00 effective for calendar year 2020. |

The caller/cuer will submit a short proposal to the Metro Executive Committee as to the amount being requested and proposed usage of the funds including school or classes to be attended. |

The Executive Committee will review the request and inform the caller/cuer of its decision in a timely manner. |

Executive Committee may discuss the claim via email, phone
call or in-person meeting. |

Upon approval of the request, the caller/cuer will proceed with their proposed plans using personal funds. The caller/cuer will then gather receipts, or similar documentation, and submit them to the Metro Treasurer upon completion of the school or class. Reimbursement request shall include verification of school or class attendance. The Treasurer will then issue a check for reimbursement up to the maximum grant amount. |

The Metro Treasurer will keep records of scholarship money approved and issued. |
7. |
Scholarship money does not need to be repaid. |
