Everyone. Happy New Year.
apologize in advance for any duplicate copies you get of this message, but we
hope you will make every effort to pass this reminder along to square dancers in
your area, particularly any youth dancers.
United Square Dancers of America, the national square dancers organization, has
a $1000 college scholarship available for a youth square dancer somewhere in
America. The Founders' Memorial Youth Fund Scholarship is presented each year
to a deserving high school senior or college freshman who has shown their
dedication to the promotion and perpetuation of the total square dance movement,
including square dance, round dance, contra and clogging.
Application deadline for this merit-based scholarship is February 1st. The
recipient of the scholarship will be announced in June at the USDA's Annual
Board of Directors meeting held in conjunction with the National Square Dance
Convention. (Go Louisville!!)
