Harvey Lee Casteel Galena, Kansas: Harvey Lee Casteel, age 74 of Galena, passed away at 10:04 AM on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Quaker Hill Skilled Nursing Facility.

Harvey was born in Picher, Oklahoma on July 25, 1948 to parents JW and Garneda Pauline (Harris) Casteel. He graduated from Picher High School with the Class of 1967 and later attended technical college in Okmulgee, Oklahoma where he studied commercial arts.

He had lived in Picher, Claremore, Woodward, and Jenks, Oklahoma, Joplin, Missouri, and Riverton and Galena, Kansas. He enjoyed playing guitar, banjo, and mandolin, singing, fishing, attending his grandkids extracurricular activities, calling square dances, drawing, and camping. He was a member of the New Providence Baptist Church in Oronogo, Missouri.

Harvey was united in marriage with Laura Jean (Wilson) Casteel on March 17, 1967 in Miami, Oklahoma. They had recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. She survives of the home. Additional Survivors include one son, Travis Casteel (wife, Cindy) of Jasper, Missouri; two daughters, Kelli Tracy (husband, Rick) of Galena, Kansas, and Shawna Henson of Galena, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Walker (husband, Brendan), Cody Carrico, Dillon Katzer (wife, Kayla), Tyler Casteel, Rickie Tracy, Chelsie Seitz (husband, Mikey), Jessica Henson, Ethan Henson, Deacon Henson (wife, Madyson), and Jenna Henson; six great-grandchildren, Baylie Klaurens (husband, Matthew), Jade Walker, Lily Carrico, Kyla Walker, Nora Katzer, and Ellis Katzer; two great-great-grandchildren, Brynlee Klaurens and Watson Klaurens; and two sisters, Connie Dudley (husband, Richard) of Neosho, Missouri, and Terry Casteel of Seneca, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JW and Garneda Casteel; one brother, Joe Casteel; one son-in-law, Mikey Henson; and one nephew, Christopher Casteel.

The family will host a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at New Providence Baptist Church, 17486 State Hwy 43, Oronogo, Missouri 64855.
