Betty J. Osbourne

Betty Joan Osbourne, 91, of Raytown, Missouri passed away Monday, December 10, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Royer Funeral Home; graveside service at 3:00 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Betty was born in Wakefield, Kansas on March 5, 1927, the daughter of Henry and Eliza (Smith) Rickley. She was the youngest of 10 children. Betty loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She could tell you all 29 of her grandchildren's names and birthdates. She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of Missouri Federation of Square and Round Dance Clubs (Presidents during 1991). Betty also enjoyed doing word search puzzles and reading Nora Roberts books. She is preceded in death by parents; 5 brothers, Orville, John, Curtis, William and Claude; 4 sisters, Sarah, Mary, Myrtle and Bernice; and 1 grandson, Thomas Rutherford.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Wilbur Osbourne of Independence, Missouri; 3 children, Bonita Rutherford (Cliff) of Grain Valley, Missouri, Robert Osbourne (Janie) of Jacksonville, Florida and Paul Osbourne of Kansas City, Missouri; 6 grandchildren, Donna, Denise, Robbie, Michelle, Gary and CJ; 13 great-grandchildren, Michael, Amanda, Phillip, Robbie, Zachery, Garrett, Austin, Sydney, Brantley, Annessa, Sean, Torrin and Taylor; and 9 great great-grandchildren, Jayden, Mason, Jordan, Gage, Katelyn, Jason, McKenzie, Grayson and Brooklynn.
