Katherine Ann “Kate” Garrison

Katherine Ann “Kate” Garrison, nee Heberer, 68, of Mascoutah, Illinois born October 5, 1954, in Belleville, Illinois died Saturday, February 18, 2023, at her residence.

Katherine formally worked as a legal assistant for Schroeder & Schroeder Law offices PC and retired from the Law office ofMisty L. Wuebbels. After a combined 50 years of work, she retired on January 9, 2023. Kate was a member of First Baptist Church of Freeburg. She was the former church organist for 35 years, church clerk for 30 years, and the former church treasurer for three years. She belonged to many organizations, the American Callers Association, Greater St. Louis Callers and Teachers Guild, Illinois Square Dance Callers Association, Dandy Dancers, Waterloo Quadrilles, St. Louis Metro Square & Round Dance Association, the Belleville/Swansea Moose Lodge 1221, and the Women of the moose Chapter 53.

Kate married the love of her life Robert “Mike” Garrison, on June 4, 1977, in Freeburg, Illinois at First Baptist Church of Freeburg. She lived in Freeburg until 1959, then moved to a rural Mascoutah Farm with her husband until her passing. Kate enjoyed being on the farm, she loved her goats, her three horses, and going horseback riding. She adored her nieces and nephews and later loved her many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hazel, nee Slocum, Herberer; and a sister, Shirley Mae Davis.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert M. “Mike” Garrison; two nephews; two nieces; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois, with Evangelistic Preacher, Kenneth Owen officiating.

Entombment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory Mausoleum, Belleville, Illinois.
